You can expect to see a lot of blue in 2020.
Pantone unveiled that Classic Blue is the color for the year! Have we come full circle? Blue was chosen in the year of 1999 as well.
Why did Pantone choose this shade of blue? According to Laurie Pressman, the Vice President of Pantone Color Institute and the individual who chooses the color of the year, “it’s a color that anticipates what’s going to happen next.”
I suppose with all the tension in the world today, it makes sense. We’re all wondering what’s going to happen next, especially in the world of politics.
However, there isn’t a magical crystal ball that helps Pressman choose the color of the year. “Each years color is decided through a long and thoughtful process that takes into consideration lifestyle and industry trends.” Says Pressman. Color trends stem from lifestyles, art, media, technology, and many other factors.
When you think of Classic Blue, you think of elegance, and restraint, but you also think bold, edgy, and luxurious. The classic blue is a shade reminiscent of the sky and if that isn’t wonderful, I don’t know what is.
How do you incorporate Classic Blue into your life? You can incorporate the color into your home with a candle, or accent pieces, add it to your wardrobe by choosing the blue as a shade for your watch strap, a clutch, go even bolder and purchase a coat and a pair of boots in the Classic Blue. Moreover, incorporating the new hue of 2020 in your life can be as simple as choosing blue foods such as blueberries and blue corn, which are rich in anthocyanins. Foods in the rich shades of blue and purple are antioxidants that fight free radicals and offer inflammatory, anti-cancer, and anti-viral benefits.
